PROFESSOR S.C. LENNY KOH
Professor S.C. Lenny Koh is a Chair Professor in Operations Management at The University of Sheffield, UK. She co-founded the Supply Chain Management and Information Systems (SCMIS) Consortium based in Hong Kong. She is also the founder and Director of the Logistics and Supply Chain Management (LSCM) Research Group in Sheffield (www.sheffield.ac.uk/lscm <http://www.sheffield.ac.uk/lscm>), which researches on these thematic areas and she collaborates with many partners in the world. Professor Koh is now leading The Sheffield Executive MBA programme.
Professor Koh’s research interests are in the areas of production planning and control (ERP and ERPII), extended enterprise, uncertainty management, modern operations management practices, logistics and supply chain management, e-business, e-organisations, knowledge management, sustainable business and green supply chain management. Her theoretic contributions lie on uncertainty diagnostics and managing ERP-controlled environment; examining the inter-locking effects of supply chain and information systems. Professor Koh is passionate about the environment and believes the effects of global warming is real. This drives her current research to investigate energy efficiency and conservation in greening a supply chain. Her current work also includes the study of chaotic, uncertain and dynamic behaviours of knowledge logistics.
Professor Koh has over 210 publications in the forms of journal papers, books, edited books, edited proceedings, edited special issues, book chapters, conference papers, technical papers and reports. Her work appears in good quality journals such as International Journal of Production Research, Journal of The Operational Research Society, International Journal of Production Economics, OMEGA. She is Editor-in-Chief of several journals and serves on the board of numerous journals and committees. She has also guest edited many high profile journals.
Professor Koh holds a Doctorate in Operations Management and a First-class honours degree in Industrial and Manufacturing Systems Engineering. She has taught in Manufacturing Systems Engineering, Quantitative Methods and e-business, and is now lecturing Operations Management. She is a Visiting Professor at Universite Pierre Mendes-France, National Chung Hsing University Taiwan and City Liberal Studies Greece, and Visiting Scholar at the Hong Kong Polytechnic University. She appears in the Marquis’s Who’s Who Emerging Leaders, Premier Edition 2006.
Professor Koh organised and chaired the 3rd International Workshop on Supply Chain Management and Information Systems (SCMIS2005) in Greece, co-chaired the SCMIS2004 in Hong Kong, SCMIS2006 in Taiwan, SCMIS2007 in Australia and will co-chair SCMIS2008 in India. She serves on the board of scientific/international/programme committee of many international conferences hosted in Australia, Austria, China, Finland, France, Greece, Hong Kong, India, Ohrid, Slovenia, Taiwan, Thailand, UK and USA. She has given keynote speech.
